Introduction to case study

Across the Aurora App, a key business goal was focused on how to allow users to control facilities elements of their building, including Room Booking, Fire Control and Access.

Research

Being that this project was very much based on a limited amount of users in a specific environment, the research was much more a case of meeting and discussion with the audience, rapid prototyping, rapid testing, adaptation and then re-designing, in a very practical and dynamic way.

hi-fi designs

I mainly went from researching and discussion to hi-fi designs and prototypes as the dynamic nature of the process meant it was easier to push new design elements directly into pre-formed prototype templates. Then the process was repeated after each testing session with the individual users of the office app.

success metrics - facilities

The dynamic testing nature and revision style of redesigning the app, the running it by all members of the use-cases, success metrics were really determined by these groups of people being able to complete the list of processes they needed to in their roles and on a day-today basis.
